Rehab Services in Louth
Rehab provides services to over 185 people with disabilities in Louth at five locations through its divisions RehabCare and National Learning Network.
Rehab is a leading non-governmental organisation which works towards a world where every person has the opportunity to achieve their potential. Rehab provides high-quality health and social care, training and education, and rehabilitation, employment and commercial services in Ireland, England, Wales, Scotland, the Netherlands and Poland. The people who currently use Rehab services include young people and adults with physical, sensory and intellectual disabilities, people with mental health difficulties, people with autism and people with an acquired brain injury. A range of essential services is also provided to older people, carers and others who are marginalised. Every year, more than 50,000 people and their families benefit from the supports provided by Rehab in over 250 locations.
In partnership with the Health Service Executive, RehabCare provides a wide range of high-quality services in County Louth with 98 people accessing its two resource centres located at the Coes Road and Carroll Village in Dundalk. Programmes are developed around the needs of the service users through their person-centred plan and can include supports in relation to independent living, personal development, community integration and employment in the community. As part of its resource centre activities, a drama company, Encore Productions, and a horticulture centre have also been established. In addition, RehabCare provides supported accommodation services in Dundalk as well as in Drogheda for five adults and four adults respectively.
National Learning Network provides training funded by FÁS and the Health Service Executive for persons out of work through accident, illness or disability, with 80 people accessing its centres in the Ramparts and the Coes Road in Dundalk. Among the courses on offer are the Access programme, Employer-based Training, Fresh Start and IT by Distance Learning. The aim of the courses is to support people in progressing onto further education, training or employment.
