Rehab Services in Longford
In Longford, Rehab provides services for 84 people with disabilities at three locations in the county.
Rehab is a leading non-governmental organisation which works towards a world where every person has the opportunity to achieve their potential. Rehab provides high-quality health and social care, training and education, and rehabilitation, employment and commercial services in Ireland, England, Wales, Scotland, the Netherlands and Poland.
The people who currently use Rehab services include young people and adults with physical, sensory and intellectual disabilities, people with mental health difficulties, people with autism and people with an acquired brain injury. A range of essential services is also provided to older people, carers and others who are marginalised. Every year, more than 50,000 people and their families benefit from the supports provided by Rehab in over 250 locations.
In partnership with the Health Service Executive (HSE), RehabCare provides a range of high-quality person-centred services in the county. RehabCare Longford operates a specialised residential service for five people with autism. The day service provides programmes on independent living and accessing the community to six people. There is also a supported accommodation service for four people with an intellectual disability in Longford town.
National Learning Network Longford provides training funded by FÁS and the HSE for persons out of work through accident, illness, or disability. The centre located in Longford town caters for 69 learners and provides the vocational programmes Catering, Horticulture, Employer-based Training and Fresh Start, and the rehabilitative programme, Turas.
