Rehab Services in Kilkenny
Rehab provides services to over 70 people with disabilities at two locations in Kilkenny through its divisions RehabCare and National Learning Network. Rehab also employs 15 people with disabilities through its commercial division Rehab Enterprises. Rehab is a leading non-governmental organisation which works towards a world where every person has the opportunity to achieve their potential.
Rehab provides high-quality health and social care, training and education, and rehabilitation, employment and commercial services in Ireland, England, Wales, Scotland, the Netherlands and Poland. The people who currently use Rehab services include young people and adults with physical, sensory and intellectual disabilities, people with mental health difficulties, people with autism and people with an acquired brain injury. A range of essential services is also provided to older people, carers and others who are marginalised. Every year, more than 50,000 people and their families benefit from the supports provided by Rehab in over 250 locations.
In partnership with the Health Service Executive (HSE), RehabCare provides a wide range of high-quality person-centred services. Regent House on William Street provides a resource and day service offering programmes such as independent living and community integration for 31 people. The centre also provides supported accommodation to eight people who have a range of disabilities.
National Learning Network, in partnership with FÁS and the HSE, provides full-time rehabilitative and employment training courses for persons with additional support needs due to accident, illness or disability. The centre provides both vocational and rehabilitative programmes to an average of 43 students per year.
Rehab Enterprises is the commercial wing of the Rehab Group. Rehab Enterprises operates a model of social employment which sees people with disabilities work alongside people without disabilities. In Kilkenny Rehab Enterprises has a packaging facility in the Hebron Industrial Estate which employs 22 people of which 15 are living with a disability.
