Rehab Services in Kildare
In Kildare, Rehab provides services for over 130 people with disabilities. Rehab is a leading non-governmental organisation which works towards a world where every person has the opportunity to achieve their potential.
Rehab provides high-quality health and social care, training and education, and rehabilitation, employment and commercial services in Ireland, England, Wales, Scotland, the Netherlands and Poland. The people who currently use Rehab services include young people and adults with physical, sensory and intellectual disabilities, people with mental health difficulties, people with autism and people with an acquired brain injury. A range of essential services is also provided to older people, carers and others who are marginalised. Every year, more than 50,000 people and their families benefit from the supports provided by Rehab in over 250 locations.
In partnership with the Health Service Executive (HSE), RehabCare provides a range of high-quality person-centred services. Its resource centre, New Focus House on the Melitta Road, provides a wide choice of programmes to 28 people. These programmes focus on independent living, health promotion, personal development, as well as sports and leisure activities. All of the programmes offered at the centre also place a huge emphasis on people participating in activities within the community. There are also individual programmes for people with mental health difficulties.
National Learning Network provides training in partnership with FÁS and the HSE for persons out of work through accident, illness, or disability. Its centres in Maynooth and two in Naas currently cater for 53 students and benefits 110 annually. The vocational training programmes comprise Employer Based Training, IT Business Studies, Job Start and Fresh Start. The rehabilitative programmes are titled Choices and Advance.
